The Summer Nutritional Assistance for Community Kids (S.N.A.C.K.) is available for Children 0-18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 7th - August 23rd. Dear SCSD Staff, Parents, Students and Families,
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the students, teachers, and families of Uvalde, Texas. These incidents remind us how important our efforts are to invest in forming trusting relationships with and among students in our schools.
The SCSD has important safety protocols in place. We have added secure vestibules at entries. We have increased the number of surveillance cameras at use in and around our buildings. We are grateful for our partnerships and ongoing communications with the Keokuk County Sheriff's Department, surround sheriff departments and other emergency management officials.
Finally, we all have a role in sustaining a safe learning environment. If you or your child see or hear something out of the ordinary or concerning, say something to someone involved. Report things to your teacher, principal, or local law enforcement officials. Of course, in an emergency, call 911.

Dear Parents, as a reminder, there will be an early release this Thursday, May 12, at 1:30 PM to meet the staffing demands for running the District Track Meet.
Graduation Day is Saturday, May 21st, 5:00 PM. Again, that is Saturday, May 21st, at 5:00 PM, in the Sigourney HS Gym.

Sigourney Elementary Supply Kits are available for order!
Sigourney Schools is taking applications for 3 year old children who
qualify for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. We will be
filling the empty slots in our 4 year old program. Your child must be 3
years of age on or before September 15, 2022. There will be limited
amount of spots available. Tuition will be $100 a month. Priority
will go to the oldest 3 year olds. Once the classes are full, if a four
year old moves into the district, the youngest 3 yr old will
be bumped out of the class in order to serve the 4 yr old. The
deadline to have your child signed up is June 30. You will be notified

Sigourney High School Band and Choir Concert tonight at 5:30 PM in the high school big gym. Gym doors open at 5:10. Tomorrow, May 5th, the 5th-8th grade Band & Choir Concert will be at 5:30 with gym doors opening at 5:10.

The last PTO meeting of the year is Tuesday, April 26th from 6:00-7:00. This is a time change from the Elementary calendar.

Sigourney School's Kindergarten Round-up for incoming kindergarteners for the 22-23 school year is May 17th for the T/TH PK group and May 18th for the W/F PK group. If you have a child that doesn't currently attend Sigourney Bright Beginnings Preschool, please contact the school at 641-622-2350 to sign up to attend one of those days. Round-up will be from 12:45-3. All current kindergarteners will still attend both days.
