Check out some of the incredible work happening in our Intro to Engineering and Advanced Physics classes.
Cole Klett created an outstanding Automaton project, one of the best we’ve ever seen in Intro to Engineering.
Meanwhile, Brayden Wood and Wyatt Wehr designed, built, and successfully launched a rocket in Advanced Physics. Their hard work and problem‑solving paid off in a big way.
Proud of the creativity, curiosity, and teamwork our students bring to the classroom every day.

Dear SCSD Families and Community Members, thank you for your ongoing support of the Sigourney Community School District!
We would like to extend our congratulations and best wishes to SCSD teams and students participating in the upcoming state events! You make us proud! Congratulations again to our recent graduates!
End-of-Year Calendar Note: Friday, May 22nd – 11:00 AM Early Out: Students’ Last Day
Finally, serving as superintendent of SCSD has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career. I want to express my deep appreciation to our Board of Directors, administrative team, faculty, staff, students, and families.
Together, we have:
Maintained one of the highest employee retention rates in the region, built on past successes while remaining a leader in academic and extracurricular achievement, navigated fiscal challenges while reducing the total tax rate in four of the past five years. implemented student and staff safety protocols as well as upgrades to our security systems, completed the elementary school interior remodel -- on time and under budget, paid off the KCCA building saving taxpayers nearly $200,000 in interest, improved extracurricular playing surfaces i.e. irrigation for the FB field, new scoreboards, etc. and added new curriculum, technology, and program offerings to benefit all students.
The Sigourney Community School District continues to be one of the best small school districts in Iowa, thanks to our dedicated community, staff, and talented students.
With a grateful heart,
Mr. Hatfield Go Savages!
P.S. Please look for additional information regarding a new Summer Nutrition Program designed to impact more children throughout the summer months.

Sigourney CSD has the opportunity to provide FREE grab and go meals for the summer to children ages 1 to 18, you do not need to attend Sigourney Schools.
Meals-To-Go can be picked up by parents and caregivers, providing your kids with 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches to eat at home. Meals need to be picked up at a rural location, Delta Community Center. We have included a survey here with more details and to help us gauge how many meals are needed for the Summer. Please respond by May 11, 2026 .
This is not a commitment to participate, this is only for projected amounts. We will notify and contact you weekly for participation, please include contact information in the survey below.
