Each day, we work to give students a variety of choices.
At our Jr/Sr High School, NEW this year is a Coffee Bar during Breakfast on Tuesdays & Thursdays!
Lunch, we are still providing 3 hot options, specialty pizzas, fruit and veggie bars, a salad bar, a condiment bar.
Our Elementary students also enjoy multiple hot options, fruit and veggie choices, and condiments each day.

Due to the current heat advisory and extreme temperatures, including interior classroom temperatures exceeding 90 degrees in portions of our buildings, Sigourney Community School District will dismiss at 1:30 PM Monday through Thursday, August 31–September 3.
Please also note the following schedule reminders:
Monday, August 31 – Thursday, September 3: 1:30 PM dismissal due to extreme heat
Friday, September 4: 1:30 PM scheduled early dismissal for the Labor Day holiday
Monday, September 7: No School
Tuesday, September 8: No School
There will be adjustments made to after school activities and practices to accommodate the temperatures. Coaches will be in communication with their students regarding the schedule for this week.
The health and safety of our students and staff remain our priority. We appreciate the flexibility and understanding of our families as we adjust the school schedule due to these unusually high temperatures.

We were able to successfully serve 28,006 meals to 206 families this summer, that amazing!!!

We can help!
Here are the steps it takes to get your authorization:
1. Hold an Associates degree, Bachelors degree, or have 60+ college credit hours.
2. Complete a BOEE-Approved Course, available on the AEA: https://aealearningonline.org/
3. Complete the Mandatory Report training on Child Abuse
4. Submit an application through the BOEE
Sigourney CSD will reimburse you to cover the cost of the required course through the AEA.
Daily Pay Rate: $150 per day
IPERS contributions begin on Day One!

IMPORTANT NOTE: LAST SUMMER MEAL PICK UP & THIS WILL CONSIST OF 10 DAYS OF MEALS!
ALL MEALS ARE FREE to any children age 1 to age 18, regardless of resident district and regardless of free/reduced status. If you have children visiting for the summer they can participate as well.
Your responses will help us project how many meals are needed. Please respond by Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
