Our Sigourney Savage Softball Team will take on Remsen St. Mary's on July 23 at 7:30 pm for the first round of tournament play, games are played at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge, IA. Our Sigourney Savage Baseball Team will take on Lynnville-Sully Monday, July 22 at 1:30 pm at Merchants Park in Carroll, Iowa. 2024 STATE BASEBALL SPECTATOR INFORMATION: ADMISSION Tickets for all games are $10 each, plus fees, and available exclusively through the IHSAA Tickets page: https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/ - Tickets are good all day at each site. - All seating is general admission, with ADA space available upon request. - Tickets are not required for children under school age at IHSAA state tournament events. - Gates open to spectators one hour prior to the first game start time in each session. PARKING - FREE and first-come, first-serve at public spots around Merchants Park. PROHIBITED ITEMS - Alcoholic beverages - Banners and signs - Coolers, kegs, camel backs, glass containers, backpack-style hydration systems, and canned or bottled beverages (other than factory-sealed water bottles) - Drones - Large lens cameras (6″ or more) or tripods - Noisemakers, horns, bugles or any disruptive devices - Pets (service animals allowed) - Strollers - Tobacco of any kind (including e-cigarettes) - Umbrellas - Video cameras - Weapons of any kind

Class of 2025 Media Day!

We invite all Sigourney Youth Baseball teams to a night at the ballpark on Friday, June 28. The High School Baseball teams will take on PCM Mustangs, varsity plays first at 5:30 pm, JV to follow. Wear your jersey to the game for free entry, adults still need to pay. All players will be introduced between Varsity and JV game.

Dear Stakeholders, We're excited to share that the start of our summer projects are well underway. We have attached photos from the first week of progress. The construction companies have already made substantial progress on the infrastructure improvements at elementary building. We are installing an modern irrigation system at the football field, while also addressing drainage concerns. Please check the district website for progress throughout the summer .

Congratulations to Julie Tremmel and Crystal Stoner on retirement! Julie taught for 30 years and Crystal for 26. Thank you ladies for all your years of service! We will miss you at Sigourney Elementary!

Weather and School Today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, 1:00 PM. Dear Parents, as of the time of this message, the SCSD will maintain its normal end of day dismissal time. We will update you if our weather monitoring indicates a need for a change. We do have a concern about sending students home early with limited adult supervision on these types of days. Please know that our schools remain some of the safest facilities in the community. As a reminder, students may be held at dismissal should a severe weather event happen at that time. Thank you! (Reminder: 11:00 AM dismissal on Thursday.)

he Design Dash was hosted by the University of Iowa Jacobson Institute on Thursday at the Great Prairie AEA in Ottumwa. Mrs. Greiner and Mrs. Caster took a group of 11 to participate in the Design Dash: From Problem to Pitch. Students were encouraged to work on a problem relevant to them-something they care about or something that they are willing to invest energy into during Design Dash. They are asked to brainstorm entrepreneurial ideas/solutions that they believe would address the problem or an aspect of the problem. Aidyn Flowers and Zach Guffey Won: Best of the Best -Fastest to 20 Customer Discovery Kayveonna Johnson and Mackenzie Belvel Won: Investor's Choice, 1st Pre-sale, and Most Invested

Congratulations to Caden Clarahan on winning 1st place at the Skills USA competition. He will be representing Iowa at Nationals in June in Atlanta, Georgia.
