Normal School Hours on Thursday: As of the time of this communication (1/10/24 - 3:30 PM), the SCSD is planning for normal school hours on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Hard Surfaces for Bus Routes: Buses will run on hard surface routes only tomorrow. The bus drivers will be in contact with parents this evening. If you have questions please call Randy at 641-224-5420 or your bus driver.
Road Conditions: Parents, if you feel that the road conditions in and around your home or on your bus route are not safe, please let building secretary know of your decision and when your student will arrive.

Dear Parents and Students,
As you likely know, the school district and community have experienced an unfortunate accident involving students while attending a non-school event. Mrs. Webb, our 7-12 Principal , has done a wonderful job of communicating. She has coordinated additional counselor support for students this week. We have been in close contact with the families who had students who were injured. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
At this time, we will continue with our P/T Conferences scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday this week. There is a 1:30 dismissal on both conference days. Conferences are 3-7 PM. There is No School on Friday.
In partnership with OPAA we received a grant to purchase an additional refrigeration cooler.
We are able to expand our options for healthier snacks for items such as cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and sugar-free drinks. It also allows us to further expand into the "grab and go" area if we feel we should need it, like a specialty salad or sandwich for kids that don't have time to stand in line or want something else.

PK-12 Parent / Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Thursday, October 19, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. There will be a 1:30 PM dismissal on both days. SCSD Heat Related Information: The district will continue with the NOON dismissal tomorrow, Thursday, August 24. Due to the excessive heat in our schools; especially in the afternoons, the district will now dismiss at NOON on Friday, August, 25, 2023. Lunches will continue to be served prior to dismissal.
